ContemporaryThis is probably best described as “classical ballet with the rule book thrown out”. It has it’s own style and technique loosely based upon classical ballet technique. It’s basis is that the dancer’s movements are “into the ground” although trying to pigeonhole contemporary dance is virtually impossible. Contemporary dance encompasses many facets of movement, continually exploring and discovering new ways of moving with dynamic qualities to various choices of music. |
