KLD Performance Dancers™

Students are selected by audition to represent Kerryn Leanne Dance & Performing Arts at eisteddfods, corporate events and community events. Our dancers are recognised and praised in the Melbourne community and beyond. Being a member requires commitment and hard work but the rewards are endless. Auditions are held in January of each year.

What does Performance Dancers involve?

Regular attendance to technique classes and choreography classes.

Minimum requirements:
- 1 x Jazz/Tap class
- 1 x Classical Ballet class
- 1 x Stretch & Technique Class
- 1 x Choreography Class
Participating in 3-5 eisteddfods per year usually between June – October. All are compulsory. Most of the eisteddfods are local within a 25km radius of the studio. Team members are not permitted to take holidays during the competition season.
During pre-season classes some additional week-end rehearsals may be required.
Costumes are custom made and appropriate to the item performed. Full payment is required prior to the competition season commencing.
Eisteddfod entry fees are minimal usually $1 - $2.50 per item.
KLD Performance Dancers is a COMMITMENT. It means students have been chosen to put KLD Performance Dancers before ALL other extra-curricular activities.
As students have been selected to represent KLD, best behaviour and etiquette towards fellow team members, other dancers and the general public is expected.
Performance track-suit must be worn at all out of studio events whether as a spectator or dancer.
If students are too unwell to attend lessons, it is requested they come to watch and view the choreography classes.
Solos are by selection only. The teachers of KLD will make this decision
