Day Five

The first day of competition at CANAM was mind-blowing and bigger than we ever imagined. The Myrtle Beach Convention Centre was taken over as thousands of Cheerleaders competed with a total of 226 teams participating. Team Australia performed their Open Dance routine first followed by some further practice sessions in the allocated arenas. After lunch Team Australia took to the floor once again for the second round of the Open Dance competition with even greater enthusiasm and energy.

Teams were welcomed back to the floor for the awards ceremony for the Open Dance division. To our great delight, Team Australia claimed victory against competing teams from the USA and were crowned National CANAM Champions for Open Dance.
Later that evening we attended the celebration party at Club Kryptonite, where all teams came together to dance the night away.
